SUBMIT YOUR FILM!
We are looking for films that are beautifully crafted, that we can hold up as examples of excellence in filmmaking. And we’re interested in stories that are a bit left of centre – you interpret that however you want. EIFF showcases the best, international, independent cinema in a variety of lengths at established movie theatres in the downtown core. Our opening night, feature film in 2008 was Pontypool , directed by Canada’s bad-boy of cinema, Mr. Bruce McDonald. We like that. The bad-boy part, we mean. And the film is fantastic – go see it! Submission Guidelines.
For full descriptions of categories and submission fee amounts, click here. All submission fees are in Canadian dollars. You MUST submit your film using our online submission form. If you are an Alberta or Alumni Filmmaker and your submission fee is waived, you are still required to fill out our online submission form and indicate your WAB (Withoutabox) number on the DVD submission you send to us.

24/One Top Ten Films World Premiere at 2008 Festival – WATCH ‘em here.
Forty-seven (47) teams took on our annual challenge of producing a short film (5-mins. or less) within 24 hours! This year’s theme was ‘Greenwashing’. What the hell is THAT? It’s the term for companies that package and sell their products as ‘green’ or ‘environmentally friendly’ – and they’re not. The jury’s choice for this year’s Top Ten 24/One Films competed for the Audience favorite and a $500 cash prize from Matrix Video. Our World Premiere screening was a sell-out! We can’t wait for the 2009 competish – you 24/One filmmakers keep raising the bar every year!
Congratulations to everyone who participated. Watch the Top Ten 24/One films from 2008.
