Call for Film Submissions
Our favourite time of the year is upon us. It's time for us to see your action! We're searching for entertaining, cinematic gems that are short (50-mins. or less), feature-length (north of 50-minutes), documentaries of all lengths, animation, comedy, family, and films created by Albertans.
Submission fees are WAIVED again this year for categories OUR OWN BACKYARD (Alberta filmmakers), ALBERTA HIGH SCHOOL FILMMAKER, and ALUMNI filmmakers in all categories -- 'alumni' is defined as a filmmaker who was a producer/director/writer on a previously submitted film in 2010 or later (regardless of whether that film was an 'official selection').

2012... Fond Memories!
2012 PHOTO Booth by Karmen Meyer Photography!
Another EIFF under our belts and, although we say this (almost) every year, this one had the most beautiful VIBE yet! Hands down! Sixty-seven filmmaker guests to our City. Wonderful conversation shared amongst festival-goers, through our moderators at Q&A's and with volunteers/staff at Empire Theatres. FOR SURE, we know we still have improvements to make and appreciate all the great feedback you've passed along to us. We'll keep our 2012 schedule up for awhile longer during Awards season, then will archive it and make room for 2013! DOWNLOAD Schedule-At-A-Glance.
If we could stretch our arms around the world, that would still be too small to embrace the hearts of our financial and in-kind sponsors and businesses. Christmas is coming up, so if you're going to be shopping, do it with organizations that understand the importance of cultural events to our very psyche. All sponsors are recognized in our animated sponsor loop which screens before all our films during the festival and is produced by the amazing talent at Rat Creek Design: 2012 Sponsor Loop - Watch it NOW

The Edmonton International Film Festival... international, independent and eye-opening. Our line-up showcases 60+ dramatic/documentary features, 110+ short films, a 24-hour filmmaking challenge, invited guests, parties, music, laughter and maybe an introduction to your future husband/wife. Call us old skool but we believe in the power of a shared, communal movie experience.
