Edmonton Premiere! Guided by a forensic psychologist, a young woman searches for clues about her missing sister, through a series of unfolding dreams that make her question the nature of reality.

Director’s Statement:
On behalf of our team, we are thrilled to screen INDRA’S AWAKENING in the city I grew up in. This film is, in every way, an Edmonton and Alberta production and our hope has always been to share our vision with an audience who appreciates both the story and the beautiful locations and landscapes we call home. The film is an emotional rollercoaster about a young Aboriginal girl searching for clues about her missing sister’s disappearance through three dream sequences. The film is inspired by dreams I’ve had visiting a loved one who has passed away, the questions I had surrounding their death, and the need to try desperately to bring them with me back into waking reality. While the film addresses some deep and dark themes, I wanted to create a window to look through where our dreams face us with our trauma, but provide us with those fleeting moments of hope. Both the lead and supporting actresses, Hailey Fata and Olivia Kate Iatridis, are up and coming Metis and Inuit actresses respectively, who also look forward to the opportunity of showing our film at the Edmonton International Film Festival, as they too call this city home.
