FATAL RHAPSODY is part of the STUDIO A: Programme 3 short film package.

Director: Javier Badillo | 14:30 | Vancouver | 2016 | Comedy

World Premiere! A lovesick pizza deliveryman is on a quest to win back his “soulmate”… Until he’s taken captive by two nasty criminals in the midst of a bitter breakup. Pizza Guy must mediate a resolution if he is ever going to reach his dear Marissa alive.

About the Director:
Javier Badillo is a Venezuelan-Canadian film director, writer and producer and is the Programming Director at the Vancouver Short Film Festival since 2012. Previously, Badillo moderated the meetings of the Institute for International Film Financing (IIFF) and was the first Regional Director for Raindance Vancouver, and international filmmaker’s society. He speaks Spanish, English, Italian, French, Portugese and dabbles in Malay and Mandarin. And if that’s not enough to make your jaw drop… he sings in a rock band called CARACAS in his spare time.

From Producer/Cinematographer, Justin Kamal:
I am a filmmaker from Edmonton, currently residing in Vancouver. In 2015, my short film TERRORIST won Best Short Film at the Edmonton International Film Festival. I had such a great time at EIFF ‘15 that I would love for my new project, FATAL RHAPSODY to premiere at EIFF ‘17. On behalf of myself and my creative partners, Javier Badillo (Director), Gemma Holdway (Writer), and Thomas Nicholson (Executive Producer), we hope the gracious audiences in YEG will enjoy our film!
