ACTING UP is part of the STUDIO A: Programme 2 short film package… presented with the generous support of ACTRA!

Director: Claire Dub | 12:00 | NYC | 2017 | Comedy
Edmonton Premiere! Cory is 25 and doesn’t feel like the adult she thought she would by now — so she pretends to be 25 years older! Quickly taken in by a mischievous gang of what are now her peers, Cory learns what it means to be a grown woman.

About the Director:
Claire Dub is a filmmaker whose approach stems from a background in architecture and design: Understand your objective. Let the big picture inform the fine details. If there’s room for a sense of humor, bring it. In addition to creating client-commissioned film projects from concept to completion, Her passion lies in narrative projects, with experience on short films in roles from Writer to Director to Producer. Claire received her Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) from the University of Toronto. Hailing from Western Canada, she has a soft spot for big skies, hockey and sudden drops in temperature.

Director’s Statement:
As a born and raised Edmontonian now working, and continuing to learn, as a filmmaker in NYC, I am very proud for my short to be a part of your programming. The city made me who I am, and is the most appropriate venue for me to share this semi-autobiographical short — a comedy that touches on themes of growing up, being comfortable with who you are, and what it truly means to act your age.
