Submit Your Film

Submit your ‘cinematic baby’ for consideration at this year’s kickin’ EIFF… an OSCAR® Qualifying Festival and honored to be included in MovieMaker Magazine’s “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee”.  Final submission deadline is MAY 15th.

We are looking for films of ALL lengths and in all genres — dramatic, documentary, animation, family, comedy, thriller, the list goes on — produced AFTER January 1, 2016 and EDMONTON Premiere status.  NICHES include: SNOW, MAN (films where SNOW is a backdrop or a major character) and FOOD films.  SUBMIT NOW to Alberta’s original international film festival.

    Should any of these dates fall on a weekend or statutory holiday, the deadline is extended to the next business day.  Filmmakers are notified of selection status on or before JULY 15.

    Awards Categories

    THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS: Audiences vote for their favorite SHORT and FEATURE length films. Ballots are tallied and winners are announced at the Closing Night After-Partay!

    As an OSCAR® Qualifying Festival (Short Films), the Grand Jury Award winners in our Short Film categories — LIVE ACTION and ANIMATION only — will be eligible for ACADEMY AWARDS® consideration, without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.

    Other Awards categories include: The Big Daddy Family Film Award | The Wedgie Award For Comedy | The Bobby (Riddell) Award for Excellence in Cinematography | The Brian (Hendricks) Award for Innovation | The Alan (Cooke) Award for Best Lunchbox Short… and more.
