SUBMIT YOUR FILM!

Films screen in the following categories:

Narrative Feature (75-minutes+)
Documentary Feature (70-minutes+)
Documentary Short (30-mins. or less)
Short Films (20-mins. or less)
Music Video (6-mins. or less)

Films must have been produced after April 1, 2008 – 18 months prior to the festival. All films must be EDMONTON PREMIERES at the time of the Festival! All categories are in competition.

EIFF does not accept trailers or works in progress. If you send us a rough-cut, we cannot guarantee we’ll have time to view a finished product, particularly if a new dvd screener is sent after our late deadline of June 30th. Your film has a better chance of being selected if EIFF is able to review a finished product. Applicants will be informed of the status of their project not later than August 15th.

Once again, we are delighted to WAIVE submission fees for ALBERTA Filmmakers and ALUMNI Filmmakers (people who submitted to EIFF in 2005 or later).

If you are an Alberta or Alumni Filmmaker and your submission fee is waived, you are still required to fill out our online submission form and indicate your WAB (withoutabox) number on the DVD submission you send to us.

Thank-you to the hundreds of volunteers who donate countless hours of their incredibly valuable, extra-curricular, time to us each year! We couldn’t do it without you. And we mean that.
We need a variety of positions filled and are always looking for ways to create innovative opportunities for our volunteer team. So if you’re interested in meeting new people, mingling with visiting filmmakers, and watching compelling cinema, please fill out an application form and fax or mail it to us.

Volunteers will be notified of acceptance by September 7th and will be asked to attend a Volunteer Orientation meeting prior to the festival. For more information, contact us at: volunteer@edmontonfilmfest.com

BRING A FILMMAKER TO YOUR SCHOOL.
Each year, EIFF hosts up to 30 filmmaker guests who attend the festival with their film, and they love to talk about the movie-making process! In order to better serve the many requests for Filmmaker visits, speakers prefer to work in a classroom setting with up to 40 students in grades 7 to 12 and post-secondary institutions. Applications are accepted year-round. Successful applicants will be notified by September 1st.

WHY SPONSOR?
Edmonton is a movie town. We love our films. All kinds of films. That fact alone makes this festival appealing to a great number of Edmontonians. The Edmonton Journal reported in July 2006 that "Albertans are the biggest moviegoers in Canada".

All sponsorship agreements must be finalized by July prior to each annual festival.
